Agius & Partners is hiring on behalf of a well-established Swiss private bank in Geneva to recruit a Compliance Officer as part of the continued strengthening of its Compliance function.
Mission: within the Compliance department, you will play a key role in managing regulatory, AML, and cross-border risks, while actively supporting front-office teams in ensuring full adherence to Swiss and international regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and ongoing monitoring of account openings for individual and corporate clients
- Management of account freezes and unfreezes
- Participation in enhanced due diligence reviews and monitoring of high-risk client relationships and transactions
- Review and validation of account amendments (powers of attorney, changes of beneficial owner or controlling person)
- Handling and validation of PEP / Financial Crime / Sanctions alerts, including client screening and transaction filtering
- Review, onboarding, and maintenance of external counterparties (e.g. correspondent banks, card issuers)
- Provide proactive advisory support to Relationship Managers on AML, Sanctions & Embargoes, and cross-border matters
- Presentation of cases to the Diligence Committee
- Contribution to regulatory watch activities and updates of internal policies and procedures
Your Profile:
- Degree from a business school and/or Bachelor's degree in Law or Management; specialised Compliance training is an advantage
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Compliance Officer within a Swiss private bank
- Strong knowledge of Swiss and international banking, AML, and tax regulations
- Proven experience with CIM / APSYS and/or S2i is a strong asset
- Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken
- Additional language skills and/or exposure to MENA or CIS markets are considered an advantage
- Swiss resident, with availability to start on short notice preferred
